on the hunt

Sometimes my style inspiration unexpectedly pops up in odd places, or I’ll find myself liking something that I would have previously baulked at.  Take, for example, wide-leg lounge pants.  All of a sudden, after seeing a particularly glamorous lady rocking them, I became obsessed with finding a pair of my own.

Cool, comfy, and casual turned running-errands glam paired with minimalist sandals and big, bold earrings.

unexpected color combos

My style is heavily influenced by the NY-metro area, so most of my wardrobe is some variation of solid black, white or gray with the occasional pop of color.  That’s all fine and dandy, but sometimes I’ll have a colorful or bold piece and genuinely be lost with what to pair it with.  Nude pumps?  I’m sick of them!  So I’ve been making an effort to be a little more experimental with my pairings.

stylish coverage

We all have (at least) one of ‘em…that dress/tank top/jumpsuit/blouse/romper that could have been structured with just a bit more consideration for your lovely lady lumps.

You try it on in the dressing room and say to yourself “I can and will make this work” so you buy it and, inevitably, it sits in your closet until the one time you go to wear it for that special occasion.  You walk up to your full length mirror and BAM!  All of a sudden you have major cleavage, side boob or something else not-so-flattering happening and have to stick a boring cami on underneath it, totally taking away from how cute the aforementioned dress/tank top/jumpsuit/blouse/romper is.  Sound familiar?

While all the skinnies and confident curvies are wearing trendy bandeaus and crop tops by themselves, I’m using them for extra, stylish coverage.
